Legal / Cookie policy
Cookie policy
spicy.fm hasn't opened yet. Until it does, anything this page sends to the Help center or a form on the site goes by email instead: support@spicy.fm for help and billing, and legal@spicy.fm for reports of illegal content.
This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage spicy.fm uses. We only use what the site needs to work and to remember your own settings. We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't let advertisers or analytics companies track you on spicy.fm.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser so it can recognize you on your next visit. "Local storage" is similar, but stays in your browser and isn't sent to us. This policy covers both.
Cookies we set
Needed for the site to work
These can't be switched off, because spicy.fm doesn't work without them.
- spicy_session: keeps you signed in. Removed when you sign out, or after a period without use.
- spicy_device: recognizes a browser you've signed in from before, so we can warn you about sign-ins from new devices and stop account takeovers and fraud. Kept for up to two years.
- spicy_checkout: connects a payment to the checkout you started, while you're on our payment partner's page. Kept for a short time.
- spicy_ref: remembers the referral or tracking link you followed while signed out, so the right creator gets credit if you sign up. Kept for a limited time.
- Security cookies from Cloudflare, our network provider, and its Turnstile check, which tell people from bots and protect forms from abuse.
Your settings
- spicy_lang: the language you picked for the site. Kept for up to a year.
Local storage we use
These stay in your browser and help the site remember your choices:
- whether you were signed in last time, so the menu doesn't jump while the page loads;
- whether amounts show in tokens or dollars;
- Data saver, which loads smaller photos and videos;
- where you stopped in a video, so you can pick it back up;
- which announcements you've dismissed;
- player and call settings, such as which microphone and camera to use.
Cookies from others
Our payment partners (such as CCBill and Segpay) and identity check provider (Veriff) set their own cookies on their own pages when you pay or verify your identity. Their own policies cover those cookies.
Your choices
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the ones that are needed, you won't be able to sign in or pay. Clearing your browser's site data also removes what's in local storage.
Changes
If we start using a new kind of cookie, we update this page first. Questions: privacy@spicy.fm.
